    SURFACE
    PREPARATION
Surface must be clean and dry.
All substrates must be cleaned free of dust, dirt, oil (including form oils & parting compounds), grease, soap residue, wax and flaking paint. Scuff sand slick, hard, glossy surfaces to promote adhesion.
    Sandblast or wire-brush rusty surfaces.
Solvent wipe and /or detergent clean surface with 12 Paint Prep (Water-based Solvent Degreaser) according to SSPC-SP1.
For optimum adhesion and corrosion resistance, rusted metal should be either sandblasted SSPC-10 and obtain a 1 to 1.5 mit (25-40 micron) blast profile.
No primer is required but can be applied over inorganic zinc rich primer for increased performance.
    Refer to
    Surface Preparation Guide
