VERY UNUSUAL
form on this antique pie, cake, pastry, dessert server. Marked 830S for Silver Norway, Unsigned for manufacturer. Design favors the Arts & Crafts period in style, the 830S mark dating it between 1892 and 1920 (In 1892, silver fineness was standardized at .830 and the mark 830S became compulsory. In 1920, standard .925 started to replace .830 purity).
The Norwegian server features a blade that starts with a finger loop to the rear and flows into a flat hammered surface shaped to a hexagon front tip.
