Charming 930 Sterling Silver Norwegian Marius Hammer Enamel Trinket Box

Description

Presented is a charming antique Norwegian silver and enamel pill box or trinket box. This piece was made by Marius Hammer, and dates to around 1910-1920. The compact is beautifully decorated on the lid with a scene of two children and a dog playing, done in black opaque enamel against light blue green translucent guilloche enamel, for a striking silhouette effect. Picking out the details of the children's outfits are little sections of pink and yellow enamel.
This compact is in great condition. The enamel is in great shape, with only minor abrasions here and there. Snaps shut well.
This piece is stamped with the maker's mark for Marius Hammer as well as 930 for the purity of the silver and the number 1132.
The compact measures about 1 5/8 inches in diameter and about half an inch tall.
This piece weighs 23 grams.
