Description
Danish designer Eigil Jensen was born in 1916. He began working for the renowned firm Anton Michelson as a jewelry designer. He remained with the company for 40 years, eventually becoming production manager. He designed a wide range of products for the company and was especially productive during the mid-century years, especially the 1950s to 1970s.These low candlesticks are from that period. They are royal blue guilloche enamel, with the pattern in the enamel being a fern leaf or type of grass.
The vivid blue enamel is flawless and the back/base is of a simple and strong design.
They measure 2.5 inches across the top and 2 inches across the hairpin base. Marked on the back with Anton Michelsen mark, AM, then Denmark and Sterling, and then the conjoined maker's mark for Eigil Jensen. I have not polished backs, will leave that up to you.
