    Towarzystwo Lacznosci z Polonia Zagranicznej "Polonia" - an organization existing in the years 1955–1989, which played a key role of the People's Republic of Poland against the Polish diaspora and emigration in the West, especially in the United States .
    The seat of the Society was in Warsaw. From 1973 it had the status of a higher utility association. The official goal of the Society was to preserve and develop Polish culture among the Polish diaspora; in fact trying to influence them politically. The society was not interested in the fate of Poles living in the USSR . From the second half of the 1970s, the Society achieved its statutory goals to a greater extent: it cooperated with Polish organizations abroad, with cultural and educational institutions (including textbooks, books, school aids, organizing reviews of Polish song and dance ensembles, courses for the country) Polish teachers and activists, exhibitions).
