OLD VINTAGE DANISH ANTIQUE STERLING INLAY IN WOOD TRAY/CASTER CERES GODDESS

Description

Ceres was the ancient Goddess, protector of Sicily and creator of grain/wheat. It happens that Ceres is also the name of the brewery that is associated with this coaster.  This 3 1/2" tray was likely once part of a set.  This early to mid 20th C Danish design seems to have been produced based on work by the artist V. Vagnby, this being inlaid sterling silver in wood, with the figure of Ceres on top, and the inlaid sterling 925 attribution of subject and artist on the underside. It is in fine used condition as the photos reveal.  I have a similar tray with a different sterling inlay design by a different artist also listed at this time.
