RARE 19th C. SILVER LIDDED TANKARD HEAVILY CHASED PORTRAITS & MASK DECORATION

This listing is for a fabulous RARE early 19th Century chased Silver Tankard, c. 1815.
Gorgeous heavily chased decorated tankard with three portraits of Shakespearian looking male figures with three North Wind type "masks" beast medallions in between the portraits with fruit, scrolls and floral below. Large standing Lion on lid with sword and star and crimped "pie crust" edge. Beautiful gilt interior.  Sits on three ball feet.
The tankard is in excellent condition with no dents or other problems, however, the thumb hold has damage to the hinge with one strap being broken on end (see photos). No other noted flaws. We will leave this repair to the professional of choice of buyer although we believe this can be done by any reputable jeweler. The lid does open and close easily although does not sit perfectly flat due to the hinge issue.
Completely hallmarked on base although hallmarks are not clearly legible although we believe it to be Swedish with date stamp indicating year 1815. See last photo for marks.
Measures 5 1/4" high, 5 1/2" wide (at handle) and 3 1/2" in diameter.  Weighs 314 grams.
The quality of this tankard is exceptional. It has amazing details and we believe it to be a one-of-a-kind piece.
