Back of handle stem & finial;
high relief celtic design up to and including the finial.
Overall remarks:
Gilted* Silver is still beautifully in tack on all surface areas of the spoon
!; very little wear if any under magnifying glass.The spoon has a minor scuff to the right side of St. Olaf on back of spoon. Otherwise,in very good condition for a 133 year old spoon!
Please Note: I am selling this item in as is condition.
* The word gilted is sometimes interchanged with the word gilded. Looking up their definition on Google, they both basically mean the same, gold wash in the case of silver, gold leafing in the case of say, painting frames, furnishings, etc.etc. So I leave it to you to decide which word you prefer....
