    Description

RARE & UNUSUAL 1906 GEORG JENSEN CONTINENTAL SPREAD KNIFE with oldest GI maker’s mark and beautiful HORN BLADE
When the serving pieces were created for Georg Jensen’s first flatware pattern, CONTINENTAL, in 1906, they were called ‘individual works of creative genius.’
This spreader knife for soft cheese, butter, or caviar was designed and crafted by Georg Jensen and has a HORN ‘BLADE’ or SPREADER.
The sterling handle, handwrought and polished, is in the lovely and simple Continental pattern, which is called Antik in Denmark, probably because Jensen said the design was inspired by handcarved wooden spoons used in cooking for centuries.
The horn spreader on this butter or cheese or caviar knife is in excellent golden yellow condition.
Hallmarks: GI (the earliest Jensen mark) Denmark and Sterling.
    Measures 5 7/8” or 15 cm.
Ships in new matte black cotton-lined gift box.
I ship same or next day after payment is made.
